My Photo Subjects & Techniques...

I am genuinely passionate about still life photography. I enjoy finding the "art" in common objects and believe photography fills a unique niche within the art community. With great respect for the "art" of photography in mind, my key creative attribute entails the use of tightly controlled directional light. This dramatic "moody" lighting is a consistent characteristic of my "still life" images. I prefer having as much of the image as possible in clear focus, no matter how difficult that may be, then I choose light angles that create shadows and highlight contour to add my creative touch. This style inspires imagination, adds creative emphasis, and bridges the gap between modern photography and traditional art.
